Until the 1980's, asbestos was widely used for building materials that were fireproof and insulating. In 1999, it was outlawed. Asbestos fibres can increase the chance of getting a disease. Sometimes, it can take a while before symptoms of disease appear. After asbestos exposure, symptoms may appear 20-30 years later.
To determine if asbestos is present in buildings, we offer several asbestos surveys. We can make professional recommendations regarding asbestos-containing materials found in your buildings and help you to develop and implement an asbestos management program.
Our basic asbestos services starting at £65.00 + VAT, for laboratory testing of suspect material. Callouts begin from £125.00 + VAT
Additionally, we can perform specific asbestos removal work such as roof removals and demolitions of barns and garages throughout Scotland. Vinyl floorings can be removed, as well as artex and cement coatings.

The Council built a part of the neighborhood in 1932 with 520 homes and six shops. It was developed by Ebenezer James McRae and his crew using three-storey tenements.
There are churches and schools in the area that date back to the 1930s. These include Craigentinny Primary School, located on Loaning Road, which was built by Ebenezer James MacRae (1935), as well as St Christophers Church, which lies at Craigentinny Road's junction with Craigentinny Avenue, and was designed and constructed by James MacLachlan (1934).
One of the most unique structures in Craigentinny Marbles is the mausoleum for William Henry Miller (1789-1848), designed by David Rhind and featuring bas reliefs by Sir Alfred Gatley. It was eventually submerged by bungalows during the 1930s, and is now located on Craigentinny Crescent.
